Production Process:
The curtains were modeled and animated in Softimage|XSI using a combination of the stock XSI Cloth and AnimationMixer for animating morph shapes.
A single flag was animated in LightWave 3D using ClothFX and exported via PointOven. In XSI, the flags were instanced, the animation offset, and rendered. The 3D text was created right in XSI using it's text operator.
The movie still frames were animated in After Effects 7 using it's new OpenGL 3D workspace.
Voiceover was recorded into the computer with Adobe Premiere and the best takes were added to timeline.
