Production Process:
This ad was created from script to final output in 2 weeks.
Voiceover was recorded to MiniDV tape with high-end microphones and imported to and exported from Premiere Pro for initial animatics. Rough 2D animation was then created in After Effects for the final timing of the animation.
In Softimage|XSI, the characters were modeled, UV mapped, and exported to Zbrush for texturing. The textures were then exported back to Softimage|XSI and rigged for animation. Facial shapes were created on the Bear and Deer for lip syncing, and their bodies were rigged with rigs provided by Softimage|XSI's character rigs.
The environments were modeled in XSI and textured using images from the surrounding Lake Tahoe area. The festival supplied the film playing at the end of the animation appearing the festival program.
The final rendered images were composited in PremierePro and exported to tape for broadcast.
